Blaauwhooft buurtcaf? Bickerseiland

discover 't blaauwhooft

Found us? Great! Welcome to our charming eatery on the historic Bickerseiland, just a stone’s throw away from the famous Jordaan and Haarlemmerstraat.

Your seat is ready on our large sun-drenched terrace! Escape the hustle and bustle of the city – in a nearly secret spot – in the heart of Amsterdam. Enjoy drinks and bites while watching or playing a game of pétanque on our own court.

Prefer to sit inside? It’s equally delightful. Take a seat at the bar for a draught beer or an exciting cocktail. Settle down at a table for the perfect coffee.

Dining in our eatery is quite an experience. Go veggie with artichokes followed by cheese fondue (the very best in the city according to the experts). Enjoy a seafood meal with oysters and gamba’s. Or dine in classic French style with escargots and tournedos. Everything is prepared with our contemporary Blaauwhooft twist.

At ’t Blaauwhooft, you’re always in the right place!

location

On the site where ’t Blaauwhooft is located, there once was a city wall. The name ’t Blaauwhooft is derived from the blue limestone from which the city wall was constructed, as a reinforcement of the 17th-century fortifications. In 1845, ’t Blaauwhooft was prepared for planting, and the first small park was created.
Since 1995, Café ’t Blaauwhooft has been located at number 1 on the square now known as Hendrik Jonkerplein.
